PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT

The following Code of Conduct is in place to ensure that everyone involved with Greytown Football Club plays their part to ensure a positive environment for all both on and off the field.  As a member of Greytown Football club, in any capacity, you are required to treat your team, other players and match officials with respect.

On and off the pitch, I will:

  • Always play the game fairly and in the right spirit.

  • Be aware of the impact of bad language; keep spectators and members of the public, including children, in mind.

  • Always respect match officials and encourage others to do the same. Accept that they make honest decisions and confronting them will not change it.

  • Never engage in abusive language, bullying or intimidating behaviour.

  • Never verbally abuse a match official, player or spectator based their appearance, race, religion, gender or sexuality.

  • Never physically assault a match official, player or spectator.

  • Always win, lose or draw with dignity, and be prepared to shake hands with match officials, opposition players and manager at full-time.

  • Respect the facilities home and away.

  • Pay any fines relating to misconduct personally.

I understand if I do not follow the Code, I may expect to:

  • Be cautioned or sent off by the match officials, depending on the nature of the offence.

  • Be asked to apologise to whoever I have offended or abused.

  • Receive a formal warning and/or be disciplined by the club, including being substituted and/or suspended from training or matches depending on the nature of the offence.

  • Be subject to Capital Footballs formal disciplinary process and face possible disciplinary action such as fines and suspensions.

Remember, as a player of Greytown Football Club, you are a representative of our values and traditions. Let's ensure we uphold these principles and foster a culture of respect, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
